- Hello -
I am so happy to be here hopping along with Pear Blossom Press and Karen Burniston. Karen's interactive dies are AMAZING, and ... Pear Blossom Press knocked it out of the park with these super EZ-Lights! Talk about taking all of the guess work out the assembly.
For my card I am using the EZ-Lights! along with the Photo Collage Pop Up. Just a heads up ... I have a ton of pictures to share for the how to, but I promise not to talk too much LOL.
Now onto my card ...
I chose to go with an Alien theme for my nephews birthday coming up.
I worked from the inside out for this card. The next few pictures show the actual flipping mechanism for the photos to pop out. Also Karen has awesome video tutorials to show step by step for each step in assembling your card. You can find the video on her website under the Photo Collage Pop Up page or at her You Tube channel. I promise they are not at all as scary or as hard as they look.
Step one ... cut out the main pieces.
Step two ... Fold and glue your arms.
Step three ... glue or tape to your card. See how the open square in the middle lines up perfectly with the center fold.
Step four ... close the card slightly so you can interlock the center hinge.
Now you can attach your pictures or stamped images to your inside mechanism. I recommend watching the video for this part so you can get your photos correctly placed so they don't show when they are closed or they don't get hung up on each other.
Now for the front light up portion of the card ...
Isn't that SO COOL? I had to turn my light box off to get a good picture of the lights for you.
I glued my glitter piece on my card front panel.I cut a small circle into the center. This allows for my EZ-Lights! to come through with all of the guts behind the card panel.
Once I have enough of the wire stuck through I attach everything in the back. I glued my battery and button to my card where I wanted to place my "press here" button. I finished taping down all of my extra wire. I know some might not like all the extra wire but I love it ... you never know what project you will be doing and where you have to wrap your wire around, ya know? Like I did ... you can always tape down the unused portion. Now flip your card panel over ...
As you can see I wanted each light shining through every other blue light on my flying saucer. I strategically placed each one and taped them down. I added my foam tape but DO NOT glue it down yet ...
Make sure the lights work before you glue it down. These work perfectly so go ahead at attach it down to the center of your glitter piece.
I add a TON of foam tape so nothing hinders my card from working, especially since these cards take a little extra time to create. I actually have two layers of foam tape so it is the same height as my button. Attach to your card base, and ... YOU ARE DONE!
Once again here is the full card ... I had so much fun making this card. I will definitely be making more interactive cards using both Karen Burniston dies and Pear Blossom PressEZ-Lights!
I love how you get interaction on both the front and the inside of the card.!
